Westbrook Consulting Services

Since Angelica has been born I have taken a LOT of time off of work. I didn't do much with work during her first 6 months. I am now finally getting back into the swing of things and I am starting to get busy again. It appears that many people are not only using LinkedIn but also now using Facebook to promote their businesses and to get to know their clients better.

I decided to create a facebook page for my business. A business cannot have a facebook profile, rather the business can have what they call a page. So, I have created a professional profile on facebook and have used that to link to a Westbrook Consulting page. You can view my Westbrook Profile on facebook by visiting: www.facebook.com/JulieSmithRecruiter
You do need to be logged in to facebook to actually view my profile.

I need 25 fans before I can set up a custom URL for the Westbrook Page. It is currently defaulted to www.facebook.com/pages/Beecher-IL/Westbrook-Consulting-Services/137270676303376?ref=sgm

Similarly I have a profile set up on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/juliebrewersmith

I also have my company blog at www.westbrookconsultingservices.blogspot.com which needs to be updated.

My company website was updated last night wt www.westbrookconsultingservices.com

I am hopeful that these 5 locations on the web will help me to continue to build my business. It is hard to believe I have been in business on my own for over 2 1/2 years now. I am proud to say that I am one of the few in my field that has made it through this recession. Hard work and diligence do pay off. I pride myself on doing the right thing and earning a solid reputation as a resourceful and ethical recruiter. I have a lot of respect for my competitors who are also still in business.

I feel lucky to say that I truly enjoy my work and am happy that I can contribute financially to our family through my business earnings. There are always pros and cons. For example, I don't really LOVE paying double the social security tax for being self-employed and paperwork can stack up when it comes to dealing with taxes, accounting and managing my daily activities. I am proud that I have been able to figure it all out though and to make a name for myself.

Since I am only 29, I have many years ahead of me. I do believe that I am the youngest recruiter in the moving and storage industry and one of the only females. I hope to keep taking steps in the right direction to continuously promote my business so that I can enjoy a successful career as a recruiter.

If you have any suggestions for any of my sites/links etc. to improve my online-presence, please let me know! I would truly appreciate it.

Thanks!
Julie
