Christen's Bridal Shower

This past Sunday (June 10th) was my best friend's bridal shower. It was fantastic. Christen and Mark are getting married on September 15th. I am the matron of honor in their wedding. I put the shower together with the help of all of the other bridesmaids and the families of the bride and groom. It turned out wonderful. Christen looked absolutely beautiful - as did everyone else! It was a great day. Here are some pictures from the shower. Enjoy!

My thoughts for today

So here I am sitting at the Memphis airport. It only took me about 2 hours to notice that there is free Internet here, so after checking my email I thought I would write down some of the random thoughts going through my head.

Today was a great day - I got to meet with my all time favorite client whom I have done more work for than any other. I found out that they like me a lot more than I thought they did, which was a splendid surprise.

I love it when airports have free Internet - I don't like it when you have to pay. I wish they all had free Internet access.

My husband is a great guy. He is so supportive of my career it's incredible. Whenever I have to go out of town, he steps up to the plate, makes the extra effort to take care of everything at home, and every time I come home he makes it a special event - even if I take 2 or 3 trips a month.

My ex boss is a slimeball. I am so glad not to work for him anymore. He recently fired someone saying that he had to downsize due to expense. It was a young girl with a family who really relied on her income. Then we find out he is advertising to replace her on career builder. Then again, honesty was never his strong point.

I love my co-workers - they make every day so enjoyable - especially my partners. I feel so blessed to work with such a wonderful group of honest, hardworking, insightful, and pleasant people.

It's really hard to do my job without a voice! My voice has been getting worse each day for the last week. If it doesn't get better I am going to the doctor.

I am so happy for my best friend. We just had her bridal shower this weekend. She is so happy and looks so beautiful. I know her wedding will be great and that she will have a great life. I feel lucky to have become better friends with some of her other friends while we all work on planning for her wedding together. They are good people and its nice to have more friends.

I loved babysitting for our friends daughter this past weekend. We had a blast. She is only 16 months old, so I got to go through all of the diaper changing, crying, napping, bottle feeding, giving her a bath, etc. etc. etc. It really confirmed for me that I am going to enjoy having my own kids someday.

I am excited about my husband's 30th birthday - it will be nice to get everyone together for a pool party.

I love swimming!

We need to build a deck. I should help. I could use a little bit of outdoor work anyway.

I am going to try harder to walk my dogs every day. I keep naturally waking up at 5:15 every day anyway. Maybe it's a sign from God to make better use of that 2 hours before I start working every day. I am going to start taking advantage of it.

I am glad that my husband and I have been able to flush all of the negativity out of our life over the past few years and bring in so many positive things. We are so blessed to have the wonderful friends and family that we do have. We are also blessed to have drifted from the negative people who were doing nothing but holding us down. We've come a long way.

Well, time to get on the flight!

Have a great day and I will post some pictures from Christen's shower and some other things soon!

:)

To all the moms out there....

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas,
playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign
of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry , he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.
In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door
was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor,a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking
for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.

She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?"

She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work
and you ask me what in the world I do all day?"

"Yes," was his incredulous reply

She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."
